By adding an additional layer of protection against identity theft and credit fraud, LifeLock does more than simply alerting you whenever they detect your personal information being used. Even if you take great care to protect your personal information, it is still out there (at work, school, when shopping, etc), so it isn't that big of a surprise to hear that identity theft is the number one consumer complaint.
